[Women's Basketball] No. 9 SSU drops 72-68 decision to Bethel (Tenn.)

The women's basketball program at Shawnee State held a nine-point lead over Bethel -- with the Bears posting a 35-26 lead over the Wildcats at the break -- but couldn't keep Bethel back as the Wildcats' 46-point second half, coming via a 51.5 percent shooting stroke, proved to be too much in the Bears' 72-68 setback Thursday evening in McKenzie, Tenn.

Shawnee State, who fell to 11-3 overall and 5-3 in Mid-South Conference play, also allowed Bethel (9-7, 4-5 MSC) to shoot 47.1 percent from three-point range in the second half, with the Wildcats shooting 17-of-33 from the floor and 8-of-17 from distance.
