[Women's Basketball] Hawks Open The Season With Decisive Victory Over Flames

San Diego, CA - The 2020-21 San Diego Christian College women's basketball season got underway Tuesday as the Hawks hosted the Bethesda University Flames at Alliant University. The game was all-Hawks from the opening tip-off as they built a double-digit first-quarter lead then never looked back claiming the decisive victory, 80-25.

New Hawk, Isabel Feller, led all scorers with 16 points and contributed an additional 6 rebounds and 2 steals. Sophomore guard, Cynnadie Whatley, picked up where she left off last season and displayed her 2-way talent by notching 15 points (8 in the first quarter alone), pulling in 8 rebounds, and swatting a shot attempt. Also making their Hawks debut, Junior transfer Keren Hogue, and freshman, Mamaeia Makoni, contributed 13 and 12 points respectively from the bench.

All-in-all, it was a great way to kick off the season for San Diego Christian College. The Hawk's next game will be Tuesday, November 10 against the Flames once again.
