[Men's Soccer] Oklahoma Wesleyan Rallies to Snap Men's Soccer Falcons' Winning Streak
Bartlesville, Okla. – The KCAC front-running Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles scored six unanswered goals to overcome a two-goal deficit and win 6-2 over the Friends University Falcons in a conference showdown today (Oct. 31) in Bartlesville, Okla.
The loss ends the Falcons' four-game winning streak this season while also halting their two-game win streak over OKWU.
The Falcons jumped on top behind three-time KCAC Offensive Player of the Week Juan Zamora (JR/LaBelle, Florida)'s team-leading 10th goal of the season.
Defender Eric Carter (SO/Gainesville, Fla. ) then got into the scoring column to put Friends up 2-0 in the first half.
After Stefan Cvetanovic got OKWU on the board, the Falcons carried a 2-1 lead into the break.
It was all Eagles in the second half, as Cvetanovic scored two goals less than a minute apart to put OKWU in front to stay.
The Eagles then added goals from Alex Lozano, Martin Markovic and Matheus Ferreira to put it away.
Jasper McLeod (SR/Princes Town, Trinidad &Tobago ) made a career-high nine saves in the net for Friends (4-3, 4-3 KCAC) and Alex Vidizzoni stopped five shots for the Eagles, who are now 10-0 overall and a KCAC-leading 8-0 in the conference.
Marcos Gomes (SR/Bello Horizonte, Brazil) led the Falcons with three shots and tied Zamora with a team-high two shots-on-goal.
The Eagles outshot the Falcons 24-9 overall and 15-7 on-goal.
