[Men's Soccer] Zamora's Career Performance Keys Men's Soccer Falcons' Rout of Avila

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Juan Zamora (JR/LaBelle, Florida) recorded his second career hat trick and then added a goal late in the second half for his career-best fourth score in a 7-0 rout for the Friends University Falcons over the Avila University Eagles in KCAC action today (Oct. 24) in Kansas City, Mo. The win is the fourth straight for the Falcons to run their overall record to 4-2 overall, with an identical mark in the KCAC.

It was Christian Raffinengo (FR/Wichita, Kan. ) that got the Falcons on the board first, scoring on a feed from Mads Mortensen (SO/Floro, Norway) in the 13th minute of the match.

Two minutes later, Zamora begin his offensive barrage with a goal from Isaiah Castillo (JR/Wichita, Kan. ) before scoring again at the 19:15 mark off an assist from Marcos Gomes (SR/Bello Horizonte, Brazil).

Zamora then assisted on the first career goal from Miles Miller (FR/Wichita, Kan. ) to give the Falcons a commanding 4-0 edge heading to the half.

Gomes got into the scoring act 4:33 into the second half for Friends before Zamora capped his career effort with goals in the 64th and 70th minute.

"It was a good performance from the guys today," said Joe Dincecco, Friends University men's soccer head coach.  "Everyone contributed defensively to get the shutout."

Jasper McLeod (SR/Princes Town, Trinidad &Tobago ) and Jesus Herrera Rivera (JR/Dodge City, Kan. ) each played a half in the net for the Falcons, with the defensive effort holding the Eagles without a shot-on-goal in the clean sheet win.

The Falcons outshot the Eagles 32-5 overall, led by Zamora's nine shot attempts and six shots-on-goal.

Next up for the Falcons is a matchup at undefeated and conference front-runner Oklahoma Wesleyan University next Saturday (Oct. 31). Kickoff will be at 8 pm in Bartlesville, Okla.
