ALDS Game 4 Lineup

MLB: Tampa Bay Rays at Miami Marlins Jim Rassol-USA TODAY Sports

The Rays are one win away from the League Championship Series

The Tampa Bay Rays have announced their starting lineup for the 4th game of the American League Division Series against the New York Yankees. The Rays are now just one victory away from reaching the League Championship Series for just the second time in franchise history, having last done during the 2008 campaign.

Ryan Thompson will open for the Rays with the bulk guy set to be decided later on in the game. He’ll be opposed, least from the onset, by southpaw Jordan Montgomery. Montgomery started 10 games for New York during the regular season, going 2-3 with a 5.11 ERA / 3.87 FIP over 44 innings pitched. Montgomery has excellent command (4.7 BB%), and can hold his own in the strikeout department (24.4 K%).

He owns and lefties and is battered by righties, however Kevin Cash is going with a traditional R-L-R-L staring lineup. Randy Arozarena, who is just otherworldly right now, sits with 8 hits in the Division Series, Arozarena is just 4 hits away from the All-Time record that is shared by Ichiro Suzuki (2001) and Edgar Martinez (1995) of the Seattle Mariners.

A notable absence from the Rays lineup is Mike Brosseau, who absolutely clobbers left-handed pitching. The Rays are seemingly wanting to play on the hot streak of Joey Wendle, who has been a torrid stretch of his as of late.
