KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Friends University Falcons, the defending KCAC champions, are ranked No. 24 in the NAIA Women's Cross Country Preseason Coaches' Top 25 poll, the national office released today (Oct. 1).

The Falcons have picked up where they left off last season, winning two events before finishing as the runner-up in their last competition at the Bethel Invite (Sept. 19).

"We are midway through the season and I'm excited to see are ladies are ranked in the top 30," said Jason Parr, Friends University cross country head coach.

"I know our ladies are working hard each week to improve.  This is a little further ahead than where we were last year at this time.  We are looking forward to continuing to improve over the next several weeks as we have some opportunities to race against some good competition."

Anchoring the Falcons' efforts this year has been sophomore runner Aubry Donley (SO/Lincoln, Kan. ).  Donley has already secured a pair of KCAC Women's Runner of the Week awards and was the individual champion of the Falcons' season-opening victory at the Carol Swenson XC Invite in McPherson, Kan.

The Falcons will next be in action at the Cedar Rapids Preview Invite on Oct. 10 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
