[Athletics] GPAC and Doane Scholar-Athletes Announced

Doane University Athletics is pleased to announce the Scholar-Athlete recipients for the 2019-20 academic school year. 

The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) honors student-athletes with the Pflieger/Olson Scholar-Athlete honor. To earn the honor, a student-athlete must have a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (gpa) and be a contributing varsity member.

Doane Scholar-Athletes are awarded to student-athletes who participated on the varsity and/or junior varsity teams while maintaining a cumulative 3.30 gpa. Additionally, for all awards a student-athlete must be a member of their program throughout the entire season.

A change this year, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) will announce the Daktronics/NAIA Scholar-Athletes for the 2019-20 academic year in September on the NAIA National Awards Day. To be named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete, a cumulative gpa of 3.50 and junior or senior academic status is needed. With the change, sophomores who reached junior academic standing following the spring semester are now eligible for the award.
