[Baseball] Vanguard Sweeps DH, Series against Hawks

COSTA MESA, Calif. – The SDC baseball team was unable to steal a game from Vanguard on Saturday as the Lions swept the Hawks in the 4-game series.

The Lions won Game 1 9-4 before winning 11-1 in Game 2.

For the weekend, the Hawks scored in just four innings. In the 9-4 loss, all four runs came in the sixth inning.

Ryan Lystlund was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, scoring Dawson Pate. Kennedy Chun then hit a sac fly to right that scored Billy Strohm. Caiden Ragadio singled home Tyler Schindel for the third run and Johnny Radomskiy hit an RBI single to left scoring Lystlund.

In the second game, Strohm hit an RBI single in the bottom of the second inning that brought home Ragadio but it was all the Hawks would score, dropping the final game of the DH.

SDC travels to William Jessup for a 4-game series that starts on Friday in Rocklin.
