[Men's Tennis] Men's Tennis Spring Season Preview

0 15

The Brescia men's tennis team began its Spring season on February 7 against the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, Indiana.

The team only registered one team score in the Fall season -- a 5-2 win over Oakland City University -- but Head Coach Will Riley believes that the team has progressed since then.

"The team has progressed well as we have added one male and one more female to the roster that will give us a little more depth and strength," said Riley.

The team was projected to finish fifth in the River States Conference Preseason Poll, a ranking that Riley plans to be the floor for this season.

"Our goals for the season are to finish the season injury free, maintain high academic success, play hard, stay consistent, finish in the top five of the conference, and to reach the championship and beyond in the RSC," said Riley.

In addition to a tough RSC schedule, the Bearcats will take on several strong non-conference opponents: Lindsey Wilson, Campbellsville, Georgetown, Marian, USI, and Alma.

"These teams are ranked in NAIA and are also a couple tough Division 2 teams and D3 which will hopefully help us gain a stronger mental grasp for the game and build some team doubles chemistry as well," explained RIley.
