Terry Collins’ Role Expanding to Senior Advisor For Player Personnel

0 2

According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, former New York Mets manager Terry Collins has a new role within the organization. Moving forward, Collins will be the Mets’ senior advisor for player personnel.

After retiring as the Mets’ skipper on the final day of the 2017 season, Collins, now 70, moved into the front office as a special advisor to then-GM Sandy Alderson and remained in that position through the Brodie Van Wagenen regime change this past winter.

In addition to a season as the organization’s minor-league field coordinator (2010), Collins spent seven seasons as the Mets’ manager, going 551-583 over that span and leading the Mets to a National League pennant in 2015, as well as an NL Wild Card appearance in 2016.

We’ll keep you posted as more information becomes available.
