The New York Mets are calling up pitching prospect Nolan McLean to start on Saturday vs the Mariners at Citi Field. The 24-year-old will be making his major league debut a little over two years after being drafted in the second round by the Mets.
The big league club is struggling, but the minor league affiliates of the New York Mets are having seasons to remember. Single-A, High-A and Double-A have all already clinched a postseason berth, and Triple-A is currently in playoff position with a little over a month to go in the 2nd half.

The star of the show Tuesday night was Pete Alonso, but Francisco Alvarez was fantastic in a supporting role. He hit a towering, 413-foot, two-run home run to right field to give the Mets a 3-1 lead in the second inning over the Braves.
Tylor Megill made his first appearance since June 14 after landing on the Injured List with a right elbow sprain, tossing 1.2 innings on 41 pitches in his rehab debut. In Syracuse, Carson Benge, Jett Williams, and Ryan Clifford all made their 2025 Triple-A debuts.
