It’s almost time for teams to start trading, and the New York Mets are clearly going to be buyers as they look to get back to the postseason. With that in mind, I’ve updated my list of top prospects in the Mets system, taking into account their progress since the start of the 2025 season.
It’s happening this weekend – David Wright‘s number 5 is getting retired. With that, he’ll enter the Mets Hall of Fame during a ceremony at Citi Field this Saturday, July 19th. It’s sure to be an emotional one for our Captain, and for most Mets fans, including us here at Metsmerized.

The New York Mets enter the second half in a good spot. At 55-42, they are just a half game out of first place in the National League East. They have the eighth-best record in baseball. With that being said, reinforcements will be needed if the Mets want to accomplish their ultimate goal.
