While the Reds manage to get to Garrett Crochet
Sean Manaea didn’t have it. Starling Marte couldn’t catch it. Francisco Lindor whiffed – in the field on a tag attempt. Salvador Perez homered and drove in four runs to lead the Kansas City Royals (10-5) to an 11-7 win over the New York Mets (6-8) at Citi Field.
Not a massive win, but a win nevertheless.
Don’t freak out but the Oakland Athletics have won 5 of their last 6 and are only 2 games below .500. Does this mean the A’s are kind of... competent? Who knows, but another win today would help us find out.
Was the 1-6 start the fluke? Or is the more recent 5-1 surge for real? Or is the truth, as is so often is, somewhere in between?
Let’s hope Crochet sticks to his knitting
