Rajai will pursue a title in Boston.
The Oakland A’s have traded outfielder Rajai Davis to the Boston Red Sox, the team announced after Wednesday’s game. In return, the A’s received Rafael Rincones, an 18-year-old outfielder currently playing in the Dominican Summer League.
These rookies don’t quit. The Oakland A’s didn’t quite manage to steal the win on Wednesday, but after stretching it all the way to the 12th inning it was hard to be discouraged by their hard-fought 8-7 loss.

Scrubland. Mountains in the background. A red tail hawk screeches. A tumbleweed blows into the frame from the left, the camera follows it as it rolls along.
Erasmo Ramírez vs. T.J. A.J. R.A. Backslashinfourth Dickey V
So yesterday’s game was a certifiable clunkfest. I’ve been staring at this Rube Goldberg machine of baseball ineptitude all morning:
This play just gets weirder and weirder.
As the second month of the 1920 season opened, the New York Yankees routed the Boston Red Sox at the Polo Grounds, 6-0, behind Babe Ruth’s first home run1 as a New Yorker. The first-place Red Sox, coming into this contest with a record of 10-2-1...
As dominant as the Detroit Tigers were during the 1984 season, the Toronto Blue Jays stayed within reach until the final month. For much of the year, the Blue Jays were the second best team in baseball, and the biggest threat to spoil the Tigers’ historic 35-5 start.
Overland Park, KS – No. 3 Grand View traveled to Kansas to take on No. 6 Oklahoma Wesleyan in their season opener. The Vikings fell 2-1 in a tough, back and forth battle.
The storylines that precede a game can often provide a rich insight into baseball history. They provide the context for what we are about to see without revealing any hints as to what might unfold on the field.

From Stephanie Apstein at Sports Illustrated on August 23, 2017:
[Justin] Turner is not the prankster; that’s super utilityman Enrique Hernández, who recently set up a hidden camera to film himself jumping out of a laundry hamper at unsuspecting teammates.
Boston's center fielder exited last night's game after sliding awkwardly into home plate.
