[Men's Tennis] Men's Tennis blanks Tabor 9-0

HILLSBORO – The Kansas Wesleyan men's tennis team earned its sixth straight victory as the Coyotes blanked the Tabor College Bluejays 9-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Tabor tennis courts.

 

At No. 1 singles Mario Rincon (SR/Bogota, Colombia) beat Angel Miguel 3-6, 6-4, 10-4 in a three-set thriller match. At No. 2, Michael Moody (SR/Midwest City, Okla.) cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win over Gallagher Martin. At No. 3 Felix Diaz (JR/La Guaira, Venezuela) won 6-1, 6-2 over Billy Wiser. At No. 4, Luckian Campos (SR/Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) won 6-4, 6-0 over Dhiraj Adhikari. At No. 5 Rodrigo Vera (SO/Lima, Peru) won over Jose Gaede 6-0, 6-0. Shingi Chingaya (SO/Wylie, Texas) won via forefeit at No. 6.

 

In doubles it was another clean sweep for the Coyotes. Moody and Rincon won 8-2 over Miguel and Martin at No. 1. Diaz and Soto beat Wiser and Adhikari 8-2 at No. 2. Kyle Rice (SO/Topeka, Kan.) and Vera won via forfeit at No. 3.

 

The next two matches for the Coyotes are big to factor into the conference standings. The Coyotes face No. 25 ranked McPherson on Sunday at 1 p.m. in McPherson and then close out the regular season on Wednesday at home against No. 20 ranked Southwestern.
