MADISON, S.D. (Feb. 6, 2019)—The Dakota State University indoor track & field teams stay in the state of South Dakota as they head to Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex (SJAC—1447 Jackrabbit Ave.) in Brookings. The Trojans conclude their regular-season schedule by competing in the two-day South Dakota State Indoor Classic, hosted by NCAA Division I South Dakota State. The first day of the indoor track & field meet kicks off on Friday at 2 p.m. and runs through Saturday with the first events starting at 9 a.m.
DSU claimed five titles at the Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) Invitational on Feb. 2. The Trojans also had a foursome (men's 4 x 400-meter relay) qualify for the NAIA Indoor Track & Field Nationals (Brenner Furlong, Timothy Ward, Joshua Snook and Alex Derr). Jobi McCreary broke a new DSU school record in the women's weight throw at the meet.
Dakota State's three remaining scheduled meets are all held at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex. After this weekend's meet, the Trojans enter in the postseason meet as they prepare for the North Star Athletic Association conference championship meet and the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships.
Next Up: Dakota State returns back to SJAC for the North Star Athletic Association Indoor Track & Field conference championships on Saturday, Feb. 16 in Brookings.
