[Football] 2019 National Football Signing Day - Vikings Sign 64 Student-Athletes

Des Moines, IA  - Grand View head football coach Mike Woodley has announced the signings of 64 student-athletes to the 2019 fall roster.

The 2019 football signing class includes student-athletes from­­­­­­ 9 different states: Iowa, Texas, California, Florida, Tennessee, Missouri, Illinois, Oklahoma, and Minnesota.  This is the programs 12 signing class since the inaugural season in 2007. This signing class features ­­­­­38 high school seniors and 26 transfers.

By position group, this year's class includes­­­­ three quarterbacks, five running backs, 12 wide receivers, 16  offensive linemen, eight defensive linemen, 12 linebackers, seven defensive backs, and one specialist.

"We aren't done with this recruiting class but it is off to a really good start with the guys that have signed today.  Time will tell how this group will be remembered because college football isn't for everyone so hopefully this group will have the patience to develop and become contributors for us at some point, and that is our job as coaches to give them all the tools they need to do that," says Woodley.

Woodley and his staff were charged with replacing ­­­­­17 seniors from the 2018 football team that finished with an 8-3 record and finished No. 15 in the postseason national poll. The 2019 season begins Aug. 31 as the Vikings host Mid America Nazarene at The Duke.
