[Competitive Dance] Dance Places First in Pom at ISDTA
Des Moines, IA – The Grand View dance team competed in the 2019 Iowa State Dance and Drill Team Association State Dance Competition over the weekend bringing home first place in pom, second place in jazz and third in hip hop. FULL RESULTS
"The team faced some adversity early on in the season and rose above it to put three stellar performances on the floor," said head coach Stacie Horton. "The week of state is always a hectic schedule with the team putting in an additional 23 hours of practice time. They never complained and were driven to push through together. I was extremely proud of their performances and placings. It's always been our team goal to place in the top three in every category and they did exactly that!"
The team was judged by an expert panel of judges from across the United States. The judges' scores were based on appearance, choreography, execution, technique and general effect/showmanship. Teams were be awarded Division I, II, III ratings along with trophy placements for those teams with the highest point totals.
