[Football] Kansas Wesleyan welcomes (15) Dickinson State for NAIA Quarterfinals Saturday
Dickinson State reminds Kansas Wesleyan coach Matt Drinkall of a couple of other successful football programs he's plenty familiar with.
"They're like watching Iowa play," said Drinkall, who played wide receiver for the Hawkeyes and was a student coach there for three years. "They're big, they are physical and they are super disciplined.
"Their personnel's good, you can tell they're super well coached, like a Tabor team. You hear me talk about Tabor, they're very similar."
Drinkall's Coyotes play Dickinson State (N.D.) in a quarterfinal game of the NAIA Football Championship Series at 1 p.m. Saturday at Graves Family Sports Complex. The No. 6-ranked Coyotes (12-0) will attempt to become the first Kansas Conference team to advance to the semifinals.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for students with an ID and youth up to age 17, and are available in the KWU athletic office or online at www.kwu.edu/boxoffice.
The game will be streamed live by Stretch Internet and can be purchased for $9.95 at http://portal.stretchinternet.com/kwu/
