[Women's Soccer] Women's Soccer Battles Snow, Saints

Doane Women's Soccer battled not only Presentation College on Sunday morning but also increasing snow fall. The Saints scored a goal in the final minute of play to post a 3-2 win over the Tigers.

The game opened with Presentation scoring a goal in the 4th minute of play when Jamie Haecker connected for the score off a pass from Tyler Bybee. Doane tied the game in the 24th minute as Kiara Colson redirected a ball sent in by Bailey Sloup (SO/Columbus, Neb.).

In the second half, Doane took the lead in the 59th minute as Cali McEntee (JR/Fremont, Neb.) found the back of the goal. However, Presentation tied the game in the 63rd minute as Haecker sent a ball into Bethany Weaver for the tying goal.

Presentation came away with the game-winning goal in the 90th minute on a flurry of shot attempts. The Saints took three consecutive shots, one blocked and the second saved, but on the third shot off the rebound of the saved shot, Weaver scored the game-winning goal.

Danielle Dubovy (FR/Las Vegas, Nev.) started in goal for the Tigers and made two saves while allowing one goal. Britney McCarty picked up 10 saves and allowed two goals in the final 76 minutes. The Saints out-shot the Tigers, 27-14, in the game.

The Tigers return to action with a road trip to South Dakota on October 20 when they visit Mitchell to face off with Dakota Wesleyan.
