TIFFIN, OH – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's soccer team (4-1-0, 3-0-0 G-MAC) defeated new Great Midwest Athletic Conference foe Tiffin University (0-6-0, 0-4-0 G-MAC) 3-0 at Paradiso Soccer Field on Thursday.

THE SERIES
The two teams have never met before in the NCAA era. Tiffin University joined the G-MAC effective for the 2018-2019 athletic season. Tiffin joined the G-MAC after completing membership since 2008 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Trojans extended their clean sheet streak to three by taking down the Dragons, 3-0 … Makena Schlosser (FR/Indianapolis, IN) found herself back in the scoring column registering her fifth goal of the season on a cross from Lexie Hayes (SO/Clarksville, TN) at 24:53 … though the Dragons outshot the Trojans 8-3 in the first half the score remained 1-0 in favor of the Trojans after 45 minutes … Claire Brothen (JR/Scottsdale, AZ) gave the Trojans a 2-0 lead when she beat Dragon keeper, Shelby Haworth at 68:38 off a pass from Gabriela Dias (SR/Belo Horizonte, Brazil) … Dias now has a team high four assists … five minutes later Brothen got her second goal of the afternoon (73:33) when Lexie Hayes set her up … Hayes' two assist give her three for the season … the Trojans outshot the Dragons 7-3 in the second half … Delayna Holman (FR/Shepherdsville, KY) played all 90 minutes, faced 11 shots and made six saves.
WOMAN OF THE MATCH
Claire Brothen scored her first two goals of the seasons to secure the Trojans fourth victory of the season … Brothen came off the bench and registered two second half goals at 68:39 and 73:33.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Trojans return home to host the University of Findlay (3-0-1, 2-0-1 G-MAC) on Saturday, September 15th at 1:00 PM.
Trevecca and Findlay met for the first time in the NCAA era last season. The Trojans played the Oilers to a 2-2 tie on the road last season and host them for the first time ever on Saturday.
