[Women's Basketball] Tigers finish season in quarterfinals
Georgetown College women's basketball showed heart, grit and fire until the final buzzer sounded Thursday against No. 3 Campbellsville University in the quarterfinals of the Mid-South Conference tournament.
The GC Tigers (8-22) had 27 turnovers, leading to 40 CU (27-4) points. At one point in the fourth quarter, that was the difference in the game – 81-41.
However, Georgetown finished on a 23-4 run fueled behind multiple Shelby Beam three-pointers. CU held off the furious rally for an 85-64 win. In Beam's final game as a Tiger, she finished with 11 points. Junior Kennedy Flynn led the charge with 20 points.
