Alcala named league Pitcher of the Week
Greeneville Astros right-handed pitcher Jorge Alcala, who was promoted to the Class Short-Season A Tri-City ValleyCats on August 22, has been named the Appalachian League Pitcher of the Week by MiLB.com for the week of August 15-August 21. During his start against the Danville Braves on August 19, Alcala (2-1) had a no-hitter through five scoreless innings and earned the win after allowing just one walk and striking out seven.
