Lawsuit challenges MLB's antitrust status
Four minor league baseball clubs are swinging for the fences in a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court on Monday.
The suit challenges Major League Baseball's ability to operate as a legalized monopoly.
Filed in conjunction between the Staten Island Yankees, Tri-City Valley Cats, Norwich Sea Unicorns and Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, the suit takes aim MLB's ability to avoid operating under the Sherman Antitrust Act of 1890.
