[Softball] No. 2 SXU tripped up by No. 3 Madonna, losing 2-1, in NAIA Opening Round

Columbia, Ky. – No. 2 seeded Saint Xavier University softball (33-3, 18-2 CCAC) fell to No. 3 Madonna University in the Columbia (Ky.) Bracket in the NAIA Opening Round Monday afternoon at Sparks Park in Columbia, Ky. Senior pitcher Allison Golic (Mentor, Ohio/Eastern Illinois/Mentor) went the distance and allowed six hits, two runs (one earned), two walks and four strikeouts and sees her record fall to 21-3 in the circle. The Cougars will play No. 4 Brenau University (Ga.) in an elimination game on Tuesday, May 18.
