Blue Jays hire Rays coach Montoyo as skipper

The Blue Jays turned to a division rival in their search for a new manager by hiring Charlie Montoyo away from the Rays on Thursday. The 53-year-old Montoyo, who became the 13th manager in Blue Jays' history, brings with him a wealth of experience in the Minor Leagues, including eight seasons as the manager for Triple-A Durham. More recently, the bilingual Montoyo spent three seasons as a third-base coach and one as bench coach in Tampa Bay.
