Giants-Marlins Deal For Stanton Appears Close To Done

Multiple reports suggest that a proposed trade that would send Giancarlo Stanton to the San Francisco Giants is very close to being finalized. There is even optimism that the NL MVP will (perhaps reluctantly) approve the trade. The Marlins would get 2B Joe Panik along with pitching prospect Tyler Beede and OF Chris Shaw—both Massachusetts natives. But more importantly for Derek Jeter, the Giants would pick up $250 million of the remaining $295 million on Stanton's contract. Stay tuned!
