Cubs promote Brandon Hyde to bench coach, name Will Venable first-base coach
Brandon Hyde was promoted to the Cubs’ bench and Will Venable will replace him as the team’s first-base coach, the team announced Tuesday.
The Cubs also formally announced Jim Hickey will be the team’s new pitching coach and Jim Benedict will serve as special assistant to baseball operations.
