[Men's Basketball] Dawkins Nets Game High 28 Points in Vanguard's Season Opener

COSTA MESA, Calif. — The No. 23-ranked Vanguard men's basketball team (1-0) opened the season at home against the University of Redlands. After a pair of preseason exhibitions as tune-ups, the Lions defended their territory with a 107-71 victory to open the regular season on a high note. Shacquille Dawkins (SO/Santa Clarita, CA) lead the Pride with 28 points and two steals while Mario Soto (JR/Irvine, CA) posted 15 points of his own. Geremy McKay (JR/Melbourne, Australia) lead the defense with eight rebounds and James Moore (FR/Talco, TX) had six rebounds.
