The Battle on the Border Sportsman Series kicks off next Sunday in Cornwall!
Cornwall, Ont. – Thursday, May 7, 2026 – Martin Belanger — After announcing details for the 358-Modified and Pro-Stock portions, it is now time to provide more information on the Battle of the Border Sportsman Series that will start on opening night at Cornwall Motor Speedway on Sunday, May 17th.
Like the other divisions, this series will have the same format of 3 races at Cornwall and three at Mohawk, the calendar setup is almost back-to-back events in three different periods of the summer season. Cornwall is hosting round 1 on Sunday, May 17 and the series immediately goes to Mohawk on the following, Friday, May 22. Round three and four will be at the beginning of July with Mohawk on July 3 and then Cornwall on the 7th. The Series will conclude in August on the 21st at Mohawk and then the champion will be crowned on August 30th.
Several contenders are expected to run for the coveted title with Shane Pecore, Tristan Ladouceur, the Moore brothers Brennan and Dylan, Joshua Jock, Kristian Smoke giving it a try with possibly some surprise entries trying to run at both speedway for a chance to finish in the top five in points.
Lamoureux Pumping as stepped up to cover the points fund that is currently at $4,000 in total with the champion getting $1,500, 2nd $1,000, 3rd, $700, 4th $500 and 5th will get $300. Both promotion teams are actively looking in other sponsors to partner with Lamoureux Pumping and bring up the total amount to give back to drivers.
A lot of action is expected on the track and it all starts on Sunday, May 17 at Cornwall !
