How to watch Cook Out Southern 500: NASCAR Cup Series Live stream , TV channel info

The Labor Day tradition continues as the NASCAR Cup Series heads to Darlington Raceway for the Cook Out Southern 500.

First staged in 1950, the Southern 500 is one of NASCAR’s most historic races as drivers run 500 miles around the 1.366-mile oval.

Last year, Kyle Larson led 55 laps on his way to the victory in this race while Tyler Reddick led 90 laps and finished in second. Chris Buescher, William Byron and Ross Chastain rounded out the top five.

That wasn’t the most recent visit to Darlington, though.

The series races here twice a year, the Goodyer 400 happening back in May.

In that race, Brad Keselowski broke a long losing streak, winning for the first time since 2021. Ty Gibbs, Josh Berry, Denny Hamlin and Chase Briscoe were the top five at the end of that race.

Sunday’s race is the final one before the Cup Series Playoffs begin.

Last weekend, Harrison Burton shocked the NASCAR world by winning at Daytona to take a playoff spot despite being last in points among full-time drivers.

That makes the battle for the final playoff spot even tighter. Barring a new winner, the battle for the final two spots comes down to Ty Gibbs, Chris Buescher, Bubba Wallace and Ross Chastain, though Wallace and Chastain both need a lot of help to grab a spot.
