Paul Miller Lamborghini To Miss CTMP After Practice Shunt
The #48 Paul Miller Racing Lamborghini Huracan has been forced to withdraw from this weekend’s race following an incident in one of the practice sessions, the team has stated.
Ryan Hardwick was at the wheel of the car when contact was made with a prototype car that was moving to pass the #48 Lamborghini. Hardwick was uninjured in the crash.
“The incident was with a prototype car, he came across my front as I was exiting turn one, it didn’t even happen in a corner, it happened on the exit of a corner in a straightaway.” Said a frustrated Hardwick.
“I thought the guy had 90% of the track to work with but he chose to come over and take the 10% of the track that I was on going in a straight line and it shot me off the track and into the wall and we’ve got irreparable car damage and we can’t compete this weekend.”
Hardwick took responsibility for the incident but added that “…this one is hard to swallow because I feel like it wasn’t an error on my part but it’s part of racing, things happen.”
The team told DSC that the chassis will undergo a full assessment once the crew is back at the shop. Adding that they will “…be providing updates as soon as we know more.”
Bryan Sellers and Hardwick were thirteenth in the championship entering this race. The withdrawal of the #48 Lamborghini brings the total number of cars for tomorrow’s race to 33.
