Diecast/Models Cleaning models

Now we have this enforced downtime I thought I should take on the task of cleaning my diecast model display. When we had some building work done a couple of years ago the dust somehow got into the cabinets so it is something I have been putting off since then. What do you guys use? One of those compressed air dusters? I have seen people suggest the best thing would be one of those slime like keyboard cleaners that you roll over the model? I am not convinced on that but I am told they are gentler than they look?
