SEC Indoor Track & Field honors for Jordan Pierre, Doug Case
FAYETTEVILLE – SEC Indoor honors for the 2026 season included Jordan Pierre receiving Newcomer Runner of the Year while Doug Case earned Men’s Coach of the Year as announced by the conference office.
In his first season as Razorback men’s head coach, Case won the SEC Indoor title with 113.2 points over Ole Miss (67) and Texas A&M (66.2). Arkansas scored in 12 of the 13 events they contested and won four events – 200m, 3,000m, 5,000m, and 4 x 400m relay.
The Razorbacks totaled 11 medals in the SEC Indoor meet, with four gold, four silver, and three bronze.
Pierre broke the UA record in the 400m as his 45.06 performance earned silver in the SEC Indoor Championships. That effort bettered the 45.09 school record set by Chris Bailey in 2023.
The time by Pierre ranks No. 6 on the 2026 400m world list, is No. 3 among US sprinters and collegians.
To close out the SEC Indoor meet, Pierre supplied a 45.89 second leg carry as Arkansas won the 4 x 400m relay on 3:04.29. Earlier in the season, Pierre split 45.12 on the second leg as the Razorbacks produced its top time of the season with a 3:03.40 at the Tyson Invitational.
During the Arkansas Qualifier, Pierre was part of another school record effort as the distance medley relay posted a runner-up time of 9:17.30 to break the previous UA mark of 9:21.26 set in 2026. Pierre generated a split of 45.98 on the 400m second leg.
Arkansas quality and depth in multiple events combined to collect the 28th SEC Indoor Championship for the Razorbacks. The bulk of the points scored by the Razorbacks included 57 in sprints, hurdles, and 4 x 400m relay, while 52 were posted in mid-distance, distance, and distance medley relay.
