No. 7 Soccer Draws No. 10 South Carolina, 2-2
COLUMBIA, S.C. – No. 7 Arkansas soccer (6-2-3, 4-0-1 SEC) picked up its first draw of SEC play, 2-2, at No. 10 South Carolina (9-1-3, 3-0-2 SEC) on Thursday night in Columbia, South Carolina.
How it Happened
The Gamecocks opened the scoring in the 10th minute via a corner kick headed in by Taylor Bloom. Bloom headed the kick from Cuyler Zulauf up towards the crossbar and down past the goal line.
Arkansas responded in the 29th minute with a corner kick of its own. Junior midfielder Kennedy Ball’s outswinger found the head of senior defender Makenzie Malham at the top corner of the six-yard box, where Malham headed it to junior forward Bella Field at the near post.
The Razorbacks took the lead in the 57th minute via a powerful shot from freshman forward Vailana Tu’ua. Tu’ua’s left-footed rocket hit the crossbar in the same spot as Bloom’s header for the bar down goal.
Tu’ua nearly put the Hogs up two goals, but South Carolina’s counterattack produced the equalizer for Gracie Falla’s first goal of the season.
