No. 44 Men’s Tennis Opens SEC Tournament Against No. 55 Ole Miss
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The No. 44 Arkansas men’s tennis team (17-13) travels to Columbia, S.C. to begin postseason play at the 2025 SEC Men’s Tennis Tournament. The Razorbacks earned the No. 11 seed in the tournament and will face 14th-seeded (No. 55 ITA) Ole Miss (12-13) in the first round on Wednesday, April 16 at 5 p.m. CT.
The Hogs and Rebels met earlier this year on Feb. 22, as Arkansas defeated Ole Miss 4-3 in Fayetteville for its first win in an SEC opener since 2019. The Razorbacks are No. 44 in the latest ITA rankings with the doubles duo of Connor Smillie and Jakub Vrba sitting at No. 24 in the ITA doubles rankings. Lukas Palovic comes in at No. 56 in the ITA singles rankings and leads the team in singles victories, posting a 15-6 record this dual season.
No. 55 Ole Miss closed out its regular season with a 4-0 win over Mississippi Valley State and a 5-2 loss to then-No. 11 Mississippi State on April 11, moving to 12-13 overall and 2-12 in SEC play. The Rebels have one ranked doubles pair in No. 64 Kai Milburn and Isac Strömberg while Matthieu Chambonniere leads Ole Miss in singles victories this spring, recording a 16-4 dual season while primarily competing on courts five and six.
The winner of the Arkansas/Ole Miss match will face sixth-seeded Florida (No. 32 ITA) on Thursday, April 17 at 5 p.m. CT.
