Virtual ONE Razorback Open Now Underway

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.  – The Razorback Foundation is hosting the 2020 Virtual ONE Razorback Open, taking place Monday, Oct. 19 – Sunday, Oct. 25. The virtual golf tournament will be an opportunity for Razorback fans to play golf anywhere in the world while supporting more than 465 Arkansas Razorback student-athletes.

“Traditionally, there are several Razorback golf events held this time each year, including the A-Club and Razorback Hall of Honor golf tournaments, along with local Razorback Club golf outings around the state and region,” said Razorback Foundation Executive Director Scott Varady. “We wanted to continue that tradition but keep it safe for everyone amid the global pandemic. We are proud to offer this opportunity to all Razorback fans around the world in a socially distanced and safe manner that will benefit all Razorback student-athletes.”

Fans can enter the scramble-format tournament by registering at razorbackfoundation.com/golf then play any par 70 (minimum), 18-hole course, anytime during the tournament week, anywhere.

The tournament is a scramble format and registration is $50 per person or $200 per team of four. Participants can even play on a golf simulator or video game. Teams do not have to play on the same course and individual participants will be grouped together once they have registered.  A complimentary Razorback Foundation Annual Fund membership at the “Razorback” level is included with all registration fees. If participants are already a Razorback Foundation member, the $50 registration fee will go to the ONE Razorback Fund as a tax-deductible gift. Teams can buy mulligans for $5 each (up to 25 per team). Participants will be responsible for paying the appropriate green fees at the course.

The top three teams will earn exclusive prizes! Scoring will be on the honor system and teams can submit their scores and follow the live leaderboard on the tournament website – www.razorbackfoundation.com/golf

There will also be various virtual contests and prizes throughout the week. The top three winning teams will receive $100 gift certificates provided by Petit Jean Meats. Additionally, participants are encouraged to post photos on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, tag @RazorFoundation or Razorback Foundation and include the hashtag #ONERazorbackOpen. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the tournament for best team uniform, best Hog Call, best mask, most clever (appropriate) team name, and closest-to-the-pin on a par 3! A prize for the “longest drive” will also be awarded to the participant who registers and plays golf at an address the furthest distance away from Fayetteville.

Virtual hole sponsorships are available for $500 each. Sponsorship includes one (1) complimentary team, company logo on tournament website and social media shoutouts!
