Revised Level 1 Alpine Certification Workbook Now Available!

The revised Level 1 Alpine Certification Workbook is now available.  Get it here:  Learn more about alpine certification here. New Three Part Initiative for those preparing for Level One Exams. 1. The PSIA-C Alpine Level 1 Certification Workbook and Review is here! The Workbook is available as a fillable PDF form (see the link above), to download and complete on your computer, or you can download it and a print paper copy to work on. It has been designed to help you prepare for the rigors of the On-Snow PSIA-C Level 1 Certification Exam by challenging your technical knowledge, your lesson-planning ability, and your understanding of the Skills Concept and the five fundamentals of good skiing. You will be focusing on the beginner zone — with some attention given to the intermediate zone. The Workbook is meant to supplement — not take the place of — your experiences teaching at your home resort, as well as the multitude of resources available to you to download at SNOWPROS.com.  You may also go to the PSIA-C.org website and click on Education + Certification.  There you’ll find links to the Reference Materials list and Alpine where a variety of Certification and Education links are offered. 2.  The Level 1 Written Exam is now online! Just like the Level 2 and Level 3 Written Exams, you now have the option to take the Level 1 Written Exam online, from the convenience of your home—or anywhere, for that matter, wherever you have the means and an internet connection. A small fee, collected when you sign on through the Central Office, will give you TWO opportunities, both timed and graded, with results emailed to you immediately upon completion. PSIA-C recommends both that you use this form of the test — although you may still opt for a paper test administered at event sites or by authorized Snowsports School Directors—and that you do so well in advance of your On Snow Exam; combined, your experience with the Written Test and your Level 1 Certification Workbook will give you the best chance of passing the technical, teaching and skiing knowledge portions of this milestone in your professional development.  3.  A Saturday morning Session at the beginning of the On Snow Level 1 Exam A portion of the morning of the first day of your On Snow Level 1 Exam will be devoted to a review of the Workbook. The session will NOT be a full review, but will focus on “filling the gaps” of your knowledge, and should help your Examiner tailor the rest of the day to best prepare each candidate for Sunday.
