The University of North Texas is starting small in a new initiative meant to give first-generation college students more velocity as they move from campus to a career. UNT has partnered with Braven, a Chicago-based nonprofit that connects students from more humble backgrounds to sustained career preparation. Right now, 38 Mean Green students are enrolled in the Braven Career Accelerator course for the spring semester at the Denton campus.
