New York — St. John’s drained the drama out of the much-anticipated Big East tournament championship showdown with UConn on Saturday. The Huskies barely entered the fight. Leading from the start, top-seeded St. John’s seized control and posted a well-earned 72-52 victory at sold-out Madison Square Garden. The Red Storm earned the program’s fifth Big East tournament title, and second straight. "They deserved it, we didn't,'' said UConn coach Dan Hurley. "I didn't crush them in (the locker room).
