Gaylord's Zane Willobee ends high school career with second state title

DETROIT ― After the Division 2, 165-pound state championship match concluded on Saturday, March 7 at Ford Field in Detroit, the competitors, Zane Willobee and D'Marion Erlenbeck, met at the center of the mat, knelt down together and prayed. Willobee, a proud Christian and Gaylord's lone state medalist, had made that post-match moment his signature during the 2025-26 season, being sure to end every match by showing respect for his opponent while taking a moment to honor something greater.
