With another transcendent performance from senior star Tae Wolford, who finished with 35 points (15 in the third quarter) and a solid effort from her sister Mae, who contributed 17, Arcata’s girls outlasted Eureka in a slugfest Friday night at Cal Poly Humboldt. In the final of the Dick Niclai Tournament, the Tigers turned the Loggers over plenty with their full-court pressure defense. But Eureka, despite facing a couple nine-point deficits, made it a game the entire way, going out to a six-point lead in the third quarter and coming within a possession late before Colby Eisner hit two free throws for the Tigers to clinch the contest with three seconds left in a 64-60 win.
