Unlike its secondary counterpart at cornerback, Missouri football is leaning heavily on its young returners at safety in 2026. Mizzou lost all three of its starting safeties from Week 1 of the 2025 campaign this offseason. Daylan Carnell and Jalen Catalon have graduated, while Marvin Burks Jr. was one of the most surprising portal entries out of Columbia in January, transferring to Wisconsin.
