Strong defense helps Stockbridge beat Springport

STOCKBRIDGE -- Forcing nearly two dozen turnovers, the Stockbridge girls basketball team was able to come up with one defensive stop after another in a 42-25 win over Springport on Tuesday. The Panthers picked up 19 points off 23 turnovers in the win. “Our team just has hustle when we press, so our press is what works for us, especially with having Melina up top,” Stockbridge’s Madeline Topping said. “Our little guards who are pretty fast, they can just run and skip passes.
