History made: Colorado woman wins first Nordic combined World Cup

A beaming Alexa Brabec was hoisted onto the shoulders of her fellow competitors following her first World Cup Nordic combined win in Seefeld, Austria, on Friday. Brabec, 21, was born and raised in Steamboat Springs and rose through the ranks at the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club. She is enjoying a breakout season, having stood on the podium in five of 10 competitions so far.
