PHOTOS: Aspen community wishes off its three 2026 Winter Olympians in special celebration

Members of the Aspen community came together on Wednesday to wish off its 2026 Winter Olympic athletes with a special celebration from the base of Aspen Mountain. With introductions by Aspen One executive John Rigney, Aspen Mayor Rachael Richards, and Aspen One’s Tyler Lindsay, and with numerous past local Olympians in the audience, Alex Ferreira, Jessie Young, and Hailey Swirbul were recognized for their accomplishments. El Jebel’s Swirbul, who also was a 2022 Olympian in cross-country skiing before a brief, early retirement, was not in attendance as she is already with the U.S. ski team in Italy for a pre-Olympic training camp.
