Wheat Kings come from behind, beat Winterhawks in overtime

The Portland Winterhawks put together a good effort, but the Brandon Wheat Kings come back from an early 2-0 deficit to win 3-2 in overtime. Jaxon Jacobson set up Luke Mistelbacher for both the tying goal late in the 2nd and the winner 24 seconds into overtime. Filip Ruzicka stopped 31 of 33 as the Wheat Kings overcame a 33-27 shot deficit. Nathan Free scored an early goal and Luke Wilfley scored on a penalty shot for the Winterhawks’ two goals. In terms of the standings, it was actually a good night for Portland, as they moved into 7th place by themselves and all the teams behind them lost.
