Girls basketball: Elida hands Bath its first WBL loss

BATH TOWNSHIP – When Elida’s leading scorer, Lilly Sifrit, went down with an ankle injury in this past Saturday’s loss to Ottawa-Glandorf, Elida girls’ basketball coach Elise Jenkins realized the rest of her team needed to step up when it traveled to Bath on Thursday. At Thursday’s Western Buckeye League matchup against Bath, it was a total team effort as Elida led for most of the game, en route to a 39-31 victory over the Wildkittens. Thursday’s loss to Elida was Bath’s first WBL loss of the season. Bath fell to 11-5 overall and 5-1 in the WBL, while Elida improved to 10-6 in all games played and 3-3 in the league.
