Boys Hockey: Nariho ends skid with win over SK

SOUTH KINGSTOWN – Two off games by the Narragansett/Chariho (Nariho) boys hockey co-op played into a 7-2 thrashing of the South Kingstown/Westerly co-op on Saturday night. Nariho’s five-game winning streak ended with a surprising 5-1 loss to Cumberland on Jan. 10. The Gulls lost 3-2 to the Blackstone Valley co-op on Friday despite outshooting them 45-17. “We just wanted to put it behind us,” Nariho’s Preston Abbott said about the losses. “We just wanted to come out, take care of business and show SK what the Nariho Gulls are made of.” Saturday’s victory at Boss Arena stopped the brief slide.
