Bishop Montgomery girls basketball falls short against St. Joseph in Del Rey League opener

TORRANCE — The pleas from the Bishop Montgomery coaching staff and from the fans sitting behind the girls basketball team’s bench were seemingly nonstop Tuesday night. “Get a rebound!” was heard over and over, and for good cause. Bishop Montgomery struggled to keep St. Joseph from grabbing offensive rebounds and lost 69-46 in the first Del Rey League contest for both teams. The Knights (6-11, 0-1) were at a size disadvantage and got out-rebounded 17-5 on the offensive glass, including giving up five in the first quarter to set the tone.
